Chromo paper labels
Chromo is the trade name for coated paper labels. They print with a ribbon (thermal transfer), and Zebra pairs coated paper with wax and wax/resin ribbons.
Paper is the economical choice for labels that stay indoors and do not face chemicals, oil or rubbing. When the label must survive those, choose a synthetic label instead.

Zebra notes paper labels are a cost-effective choice for bins and totes inside a plant, and suggests polyester for labels near forklifts and for rack labels that must last 12 months or more.

Before you order
Chromo labels print thermal transfer, so your printer must take a ribbon. A printer that prints direct thermal only needs direct thermal labels instead. Direct thermal vs thermal transfer.
Keep chromo for labels that stay indoors and dry. For a label that meets oil, chemicals or rubbing, Zebra suggests a synthetic label such as polyester. Synthetic labels.
Your printer takes a range of label widths, a largest roll and one or more core sizes; the label roll must match all three. Label roll sizes by printer.
