Why the HR2000
The HR2000 is a corded 2D handheld scanner that connects to a PC or POS by USB or RS-232. Newland also sells a Bluetooth model, the HR2000-BT, in the same 117.5 × 67.5 × 144 mm body; the two have different image sensors and reading ranges.
Newland lists EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC, GS1-128, GS1 DataBar and ITF-14, plus QR Code, Micro QR, Data Matrix, PDF417, Aztec, MaxiCode and DotCode. Minimum resolution is 3 mil.
The HR2000 decodes GS1 Digital Link, the GS1 format that puts a product's GTIN inside a web address in a QR code.
On USB it can act as a keyboard, a virtual COM port (USB CDC), HID-POS or IBM SurePOS, according to Newland's user guide. An RS-232 cable is listed for older POS machines and weighing or billing systems with a serial port.
A standard 13 mil EAN-13 reads from 40 mm to 370 mm, and a 15 mil QR code from 20 mm to 230 mm. The field of view is 45° wide and 34° high.
IP52 sealing, a 1.5 m drop rating and an operating range of -20 °C to 50 °C. At 137 g it is light for long billing shifts.

For buyers in India
These are the points buyers in India ask us about the HR2000. Mention the ones that apply to you when you request a quote.
A cashier can scan a pack with the HR2000 from about a third of a metre, without turning it close to the window. Newland rates it to read a 13 mil EAN-13 from 40 mm to 370 mm. GS1 India issues the EAN-13 product numbers that begin with 890.
Hold the HR2000 about 125 mm from a GST e-invoice to fit the whole IRN QR code in its 34° vertical view. That is inside the 20-230 mm range Newland gives for a 15 mil QR code.
The HR2000 lists the code types used on Indian medicine and bulk-drug (API) labels: QR Code, Micro QR, Data Matrix, GS1-128 and GS1 DataBar. It reads a 10 mil Data Matrix from 20 mm to 170 mm.
On USB the HR2000 needs no adapter: it draws 190 mA typically and 300 mA at most at 5 V, within the 500 mA a standard USB 2.0 port supplies. It works from -20 °C to 50 °C. IP52 means dust-protected and safe from dripping water, not from rain.

Questions buyers ask
The HR2000 price depends on the cable or accessories you need and the quantity. Ask our team for today's competitive price: share your requirement and budget, and we will help you choose the right configuration and send a written quotation with current pricing and delivery time.
Choose the corded HR2000 when the scanner stays at one billing counter or desk. It needs no charging and also offers RS-232. Choose the HR2000-BT when staff carry goods or walk to shelves: it uses Bluetooth 5.0 with a stated 100 m open-air range and a replaceable 2,600 mAh battery. Both have the same body size, IP52 sealing and 1.5 m drop rating. The corded HR2000 reads a 13 mil EAN-13 further, up to 370 mm against 260 mm.
Usually, yes. On USB the HR2000 can act as a keyboard, so scanned codes appear wherever the cursor is, as in most billing and ERP screens. It can also run as a virtual COM port, HID-POS or IBM SurePOS device, or connect by RS-232. Newland provides JPOS and OPOS drivers.
Yes. It reads QR Code, which GST e-invoices and UPI payment codes use, and Data Matrix, GS1-128 and GS1 DataBar, which appear on medicine labels. It sends the code text to your software as typed characters or over a virtual COM port. Checking an e-invoice signature or taking a UPI payment is done by your software or the customer's UPI app, not by the scanner.
Not on USB. Newland rates it at 5 V DC, 190 mA typically and 300 mA at most, which a standard USB 2.0 port can supply. Newland lists a 5 V 1.5 A power adapter for set-ups where the port cannot power the scanner, for example on the RS-232 cable, which has a DC socket. Tell us your connection when you ask for a quote.
For shops, pharmacies, stock rooms and light warehouse work, yes: Newland rates the HR2000 IP52, for 1.5 m drops and for -20 °C to 50 °C, 10 °C colder than the cordless HR2000-BT and HR3000-BT. It is not an industrial scanner, so for oily shop floors, marked metal parts or reach beyond 370 mm, ask us about Newland's NVH220 or the HR3000-BT.
Yes. We install the HR2000 at your site, set it to send data the way your ERP, warehouse or billing software expects (our own warehouse management system included) and train your team. Tell us the software when you ask for a quote, and we include the setup in the quotation.
Send what you scan, where you scan it and the software it feeds; we reply with a written quotation.
